Jesus Christ the Son of God is a perfect servant and model of humility, and He ultimately shows this by His death upon the Cross for our sins. Thus, He teaches us that, in a world that too often exalts people too highly, true joy and fulfillment come from humility, from putting God and other people first in our lives instead of ourselves, trusting that God loves us and will provide for what we need.
"And Jesus answered them, saying, 'The hour is come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any one serves Me let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any one serves Me, him will My Father honor.' " John 12;23-26
